About

I’m John Worthington, founder of MyServiceMonitor, LLC. I’ve spent more than 40 years in IT—initially in sales and business development, and for the past two decades focused on IT service management, continual improvement, and the performance of end-to-end digital services.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen organizations invest heavily in frameworks, tools, processes, and technology—yet still struggle with a fundamental question: Are our services actually being managed well, and are they delivering the outcomes our customers and stakeholders expect?

That question is at the heart of my work today. I help organizations cut through service management complexity, clarify ownership and accountability, identify meaningful improvement opportunities, and strengthen the management system behind their services. My approach is practical and framework-friendly: the goal isn’t to replace what you already use, but to help it work better.

My background includes ITIL v2/v3/v4, PMP, CISA, CPP, XLA Master, and USM certifications. I was also the first Certified USM Professional in the United States. Through MyServiceMonitor, I now provide coaching, diagnostics, and practical guidance for organizations looking to improve service management without adding unnecessary complexity.

I continue to share my perspectives on service management, continual improvement, digital service performance, and the evolving role of AI through my LinkedIn articles and posts. If these topics interest you, I invite you to connect with me there and follow my newsletter.
